Holiday Lets

A choice of holiday cottages for rent Bodnant Bach from the north

A wonderful old farmhouse and three delightful old cottages are currently available to rent as high quality holiday cottages. All of them have been recently restored to a very high standard and have been attractively furnished in a traditional style. All of them enjoy good views of woods, hills and more distant mountains.

If you rent any of our holiday cottages, you would be welcome to walk over more than 20 miles of attractive rides and paths
through the Estate’s beautiful private woodland and farmland. Wall maps showing Estate paths hang in each property, and laminated walking maps showing Estate paths are available in each property for your use.

Also, if you rent any of our holiday cottages, you would be eligible for a discount on plants and gifts sold at the Bodnant Plant, Gift and Craft Centre.

Each property is cared for by a housekeeper, who looks after only that property. She will ensure that you have a "welcome" hamper of food on your arrival, and she will be available to deal with any queries during your stay.

All our holiday cottages are rented through Rural Retreats, one of the leading companies providing top quality holiday lets in the UK. Please contact Rural Retreats for any enquiries as to availability or bookings. Their contact details are

Lletty, a Grade II farmhouse about to be restoredMore holiday cottages in the pipeline

We are keen to restore more cottages and farmhouses on the Bodnant Estate which during the last century have become derelict or abandoned as a result of changes in farming patterns. One such project is underway, and a number of others are currently being planned. We hope to have our fifth property (the listed farmhouse pictured on the right) available for rent as a holiday cottage by late 2006, with more in the pipeline after that.

A wealth of sights and activities nearby

As well as the attractions of being on a beautiful private estate with extensive walks, guests at our holiday cottages will also enjoy exploring Bodnant Garden. Bodnant Garden lies at the heart of the Estate, and is open between mid March and the end of October.

Within a 15 minute drive of the Estate are many other fine sites, including the medieval town of Conwy with its famous castle and town walls, the elegant Victorian seaside resort of Llandudno with its imposing front, and the market town of Llanrwst with its beautiful Inigo Jones bridge over the River Conwy. The North Wales coast, with all its shopping and cultural facilities and its good transport links, boasts many attractions.

Snowdonia National Park is also on the doorstep, with its outstanding landscape and wide range of outdoor activities.

Also within easy striking distance are:
numerous castles, some dating back to the 13th century (such as Conwy, Caernarvon, Beaumaris, Harlech) and some more recent (such as the 19th century Penrhyn Castle)
various medieval houses (such as Gwydir Castle at Llanrwst and Plas Mawr in Conwy)
several National Trust houses (such as Plas Newydd on Anglesey and Erddig near Wrexham)

various museums (such as the National Portrait Gallery’s 19th century collection at Bodelwyddan),

and many other sights and attractions.

There is also a vibrant cultural life in North Wales, with the North Wales Theatre in Llandudno, a multiplex cinema and music festivals in the summer, all nearby.
