The Bodnant Estate leases out the rights for shoots to various consortiums, all of which operate within current regulations and good practice.

Split into three shoots, The West Shoot, The East Shoot and The Main Shoot, have over 1,000 acres of mature hardwood and softwood forests. Built up banks and undulations in the natural topography of the land all give the potential for exceptional shoots.The lakes and small ponds on the estate, also encourage excellent show of birds.

Operating within a limit of 100 to 150 birds a day, there are also smaller, semi-drives and walks with a limit of 50 to 60 birds. This includes pheasant, duck and woodcock.

On a typical drive day, there are five to six pheasant drives and one duck drive, with eight guns. For a full day, a hamper lunch is provided.
